Scott Canna was a former post-doctoral fellow in the Behrens lab who went off the start his own R01 funded lab at The University of Pittsburgh. Now we’ve recruited him back here, and the Canna Lab is right across the hall studying IL-18 biology in autoinflammation.  We do joint lab meeting with the Canna lab and other, contributing to the stimulating and vibrant environment on the floor. Scott is also a member of the Division of Rheumatology and the Immune Dysregulation program.

Scott Gordon is a graduate of the Perelman School of Medicine MD/PhD program and is a neonatologist now studying the interface between immunity and pregnancy.  He also was a former post-doc of the Behrens laboratory, and also has his lab across the hall from the Behrens.  Scott and his lab are also a part of our joint lab meeting

Andrew Steenhoff is an Infectious Disease Physician at CHOP and Medical Director of CHOP’s Global Health Center. Dr. Steenhoff did his fellowship at CHOP at the exact same time Dr. Behrens where they first met.  It only took another 15 years to finally launch our joint project to study Dengue in the Dominican Republic, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Taku and Ed did their post-doctoral fellowships together in the Koretzky Laboratory and have continued a close working relationship every since. We have shared a co-PI R01 to study IL-33 biology in cytokine storm, and have co-authored multiple papers together. Taku’s lab studies a whole host of interesting immune functions. Taku also participates in the joint lab meeting.
